Firebirds Stay Hot, Come Back With Eight-Run Ninth

Through eight innings, the Orleans Firebirds had not scored once. No runner had even reached third base. In the ninth inning, down 2-0, the floodgates opened and Orleans bashed seven hits, plating eight runs and seizing an astonishing 8-2 victory over Harwich at Whitehouse Field. (More)

West Rules at Fenway, 5-0

Kolten Wong (Hawai'i), Marcus Stroman (Duke), and Kyle Simon (Arizona) represented the Orleans Firebirds at Fenway Park on Wednesday night, but it was the West Division All-Stars who compiled 10 hits and pitched a shutout en route to a 5-0 victory. (More)

Orleans Dominates in 6-0 Victory Over Cotuit

Matt Sisto (Hawai'i) pitched six scoreless innings, and college teammate Kolten Wong (Hawai'i) had three hits and three RBI, as the Orleans Firebirds were hitting on all cylinders in a 6-0 victory over the Cotuit Kettleers Monday night at Eldredge Park. (More)

Steve Selsky Named Coca-Cola Player of the Week

Steve Selsky (Arizona) celebrated his birthday in style this past week, hitting .438 (7-for-16) with two home runs and a double, and on Sunday he received a belated birthday gift.  Selsky was named the Coca-Cola Player of the Week by the Cape Cod Baseball League, his first such honor in two years on the Cape. Carpenter's No-No Broken Up in Ninth Inning of 3-1 Victory

With his parents visiting from Arizona to see him pitch, Ryan Carpenter (Gonzaga) took a no-hitter into the ninth inning Sunday night in Bourne before surrendering a triple to Creede Simpson (Auburn). Marcus Stroman (Duke) got three straight outs to earn another save and a 3-1 victory for the Firebirds on a memorable night at Doran Park. (More)

Firebirds Claw Out Three Points in Double-Header Against Falmouth

The Orleans Firebirds were down 2-0 in Game 1 and 4-1 in Game 2, but got clutch two-out RBI hits from three different players to come back and earn three points with a 2-2 tie and 5-4 win in two games against the Falmouth Commodores Saturday at Eldredge Park. (More)

Firebirds Survive Rain and Whitecaps, Win 4-3

When the skies opened up in the bottom of the sixth inning, it appeared as if the Orleans Firebirds' three-run comeback in the top of the sixth would be nullified, that the score would revert back to the last full inning and the Brewster Whitecaps would win a 2-1, five inning game. But Mother Nature relented - for a few moments, at least - and Will Clinard (Vanderbilt) got the three outs needed for the Firebirds to win 4-3 in six innings Friday night in Brewster. (More)

Pill's Ninth Inning Blast Downs Firebirds 2-1

The Harwich Mariners scored in the seventh inning to tie the game at one, and got a go-ahead solo homer from Tyler Pill (CS Fullerton) in the ninth to earn a come-from-behind win over the Orleans Firebirds Wednesday night at Eldredge Park. (More)

Simon, Stroman and Wong Selected as All-Stars

Pitchers Kyle Simon (Arizona) and Marcus Stroman (Duke), and second baseman Kolten Wong (Hawai'i), were selected Wednesday afternoon as representatives of the East Division in the Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game, to be played at Fenway Park on Wednesday, July 28th. (More)
